Auto Belanja ("the App", "we", "our") is an expense-tracking app built to help you record and understand your spending. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. The short version: the App works entirely on your device. It has no servers, no user accounts, and no internet connection of its own — everything you enter or that the App detects is stored locally on your phone and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
1. Data the App stores on your device
All data below is stored only in the App's local, on-device database. None of it leaves your device unless you personally choose to export, back up, or share it (see Section 4).
- Transactions — amount, category, merchant/description, account, date, notes, and tags you add or that are detected from a notification.
- Accounts, categories, budgets, savings goals, and recurring bills you create.
- Transfers you record between your own accounts.
- Your profile details (e.g. display name, avatar image, preferred currency) if you choose to set them.
- A PIN and/or biometric preference, if you turn on app-lock — the PIN itself is stored locally and biometric verification is handled by your device's operating system; the App never sees your fingerprint or face data.
- A local log of notifications the App has processed, and a queue of auto-detected entries awaiting your review.
- App preferences such as theme, currency, and which apps you've chosen to listen to for auto-detection.
2. Notification access
To automatically detect payments (for example, a bank debit or an e-wallet top-up), the App can request Notification Access, an Android system permission. If you grant it, the App reads the text of notifications posted by the specific apps you choose on the "Listened Apps" screen — nothing else.
This processing happens entirely on your device: the App parses the notification text locally to guess an amount, merchant, and whether it looks like income or an expense, and stores the result in your local transaction/review queue. Notification content is never sent off your device, is never seen by us, and is never used for advertising. You can review, edit, or dismiss anything the App detects before it becomes a real transaction, and you can revoke Notification Access at any time from your device's Settings or from the App's "Listened Apps" screen.
3. Other device permissions
The App may also request:
- Post Notifications — to show you local reminders (for example, a savings-goal reminder) that the App schedules on your own device.
- Biometric / Use Biometric — only if you enable app-lock with fingerprint or face unlock; verification is performed by your device's OS, not by the App.
- Ignore battery optimizations — optional, and only if you accept the prompt on the "Listened Apps" screen. Without it, your device's power management can shut down the notification listener in the background, which silently loses payments it would otherwise have recorded. It grants no access to your data; the App remains fully usable if you decline.
- Photo/gallery access — only if you choose to set a profile picture.
- Storage access — only when you choose to export or back up your data, or restore a backup file, so the App can read or write that file on your device.
4. Exporting, backing up, and sharing your data
The App lets you export your records or create a backup file. These files are written to your own device's storage. If you then choose to share that file (for example, via email, cloud storage, or a messaging app), that sharing is your own action using your device's share sheet — the App itself does not upload anything anywhere.
5. No accounts, no analytics servers, no ads
The App does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use it. It does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services that transmit data off your device. Any usage statistics the App keeps for its own internal features (for example, counting how many transactions you've auto-tracked this month) are stored locally and are never transmitted anywhere.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device for as long as the App is installed, or until you delete it yourself. The "Delete & Reset" screen lets you permanently delete specific categories of data or everything at once. Uninstalling the App removes its local database entirely, subject to your device's own OS behaviour (for example, Android may keep a backup of app data separately if you have Android backups enabled at the OS level — that is controlled by your device settings, not by the App).
7. Children's privacy
The App is a general-purpose personal finance tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children, and since the App collects no data from anyone in the first place, this is inherently the case.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, because a future version of the App adds a new feature that changes how data is handled — we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, note it within the App.
